Having graduated in 1965 and admitted as a solicitor in 1966, he obtained a position in Nyngan to experience a different environment of legal practice particularly where, as it turned out, the isolation of the practice required in-depth research to achieve the necessary result. The practice was not limited to the immediate environs of Nyngan but covered the entire north-west quarter of the State.
While at Nyngan he was selected as a Rotary Group Study Exchange envoy to California where he spoke with businesses, colleges, schools and community groups about Australia and its circumstances.
Returning to a Sydney city practice he was elected as a Councillor with the Law Society of NSW serving particularly on the committees of Complaints, Fidelity Fund, Ethics and social events. He was involved in re-writing the Trust Account Regulations incorporating new concepts of Controlled Money, Solicitors Nominee Companies and the use of computers.
He set up practice in Chatswood in 1977 where he has remained in practice. He has been admitted as a Notary Public and a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Business Law.
He has instituted a practice forum for Solicitors in the area. He was the inaugural President of the local Business Network International. He is a life member of the Law Society of NSW, of the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce and of the Chatswood Club.
