Peter V. Benjafield

Having graduated in 1965 and admitted as a solicitor in 1966, he obtained a position in Nyngan to experience a different environment of legal practice particularly where, as it turned out, the isolation of the practice required in-depth research to achieve the necessary result.  The practice was not limited to the immediate environs of Nyngan but covered the entire north-west quarter of the State.

​While at Nyngan he was selected as a Rotary Group Study Exchange envoy to California where he spoke with businesses, colleges, schools and community groups about Australia and its circumstances.

​Returning to a Sydney city practice he was elected as a Councillor with the Law Society of NSW serving particularly on the committees of Complaints, Fidelity Fund, Ethics and social events.  He was involved in re-writing the Trust Account Regulations incorporating new concepts of Controlled Money, Solicitors Nominee Companies and the use of computers.

​He set up practice in Chatswood in 1977 where he has remained in practice.  He has been admitted as a Notary Public and a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Business Law.

​He has instituted a practice forum for Solicitors in the area.  He was the inaugural President of the local Business Network International.  He is a life member of the Law Society of NSW, of the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce and of the Chatswood Club.
